What a great day was had at the community planting with a beautiful sunny morning. This year our members were joined by volunteers from the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Thanks to Jordan Crook for organising participation of Sea Shepherd members. SDCN has been planting out this creek side site since 1996 and it is delightful to see the plants mature into new habitat. This year we began to plant a section of the upslope land and continued our plating along the top of the Monbulk Creek banks.
In the background fire killed trees and natural regeneration of eucalypt and acacia trees is visible following the February 2009 Upwey/Belgrave South bushfire.
Thanks to everybody who attended.
